Here's how they work:
- The wooden figure attaches to your door using its built-in magnet (or the included metal plate for non-metal doors).
- Inside the opening is a heavy brass bell. Unlike a typical jingle bell, it's suspended so it can swing freely.
- When the door opens or closes, the movement causes the brass bell to swing back and forth.
- The bell strikes the inside of the wooden body, creating a soft, pleasant "ding" or "tonk" sound. It's much gentler than a standard doorbell or wind chime.
Why the brass ball is exposed
The brass bell isn't just decorative. It's intentionally left partially exposed because:
